Aiming to hold a distinguished place in Turkey, our Mining Engineering Department is dedicated to training engineers with knowledge in mining operations (open-pit, underground, tunnel, drilling, etc.), mineral processing/enrichment (chemical-biological extraction techniques, coal, industrial raw materials, etc.), mining mechanization, and technology. These engineers are expected to use computers effectively and possess social skills. Our department aims to educate young and dynamic engineers aligned with technology, particularly in the asphaltite, petroleum, coal, industrial raw materials, and aggregate sectors, which are primary mining resources of our city.
The language of instruction is Turkish. In addition to professional and technical courses designed to impart efficient learning skills for underground and surface resources, students are prepared for contemporary conditions through courses in computer programming, general and technical English, as well as social elective courses. Additionally, students are given the opportunity to undertake internships in various public and private institutions related to their profession, allowing them to acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge.
Students who successfully complete their courses, graduation projects, and summer internships earn the title of "Mining Engineer."
